Govt opens PM Internship Scheme Round 3 with over 21,500 opportunities

The third round of the Prime Minister Internship Scheme has opened for applications, offering students and recent graduates access to paid internship opportunities across a wide range of industries in India.

Applicants can explore over 21,700 roles currently listed on the official portal, with new opportunities being added regularly. The internships come with a minimum monthly financial assistance of ₹9,000 and are available through pminternship.mca.gov.in.

The scheme spans more than 20 sectors, including IT, healthcare, retail, logistics, manufacturing, and hospitality.

Positions are distributed across 32 states and Union Territories and over 380 districts, allowing candidates to choose roles based on preferred location and industry.

The program is open to candidates across six qualification levels, making it accessible to both students and fresh graduates. The portal allows users to filter opportunities by sector, company, and district to find suitable matches.

Designed to enhance employability, the initiative focuses on providing practical, hands-on experience in professional settings. Interns will engage in industry-relevant tasks, work with teams, and gain exposure to real workplace environments.

In addition to technical learning, the program aims to strengthen soft skills, improve confidence, and prepare candidates for future job roles.

Participants who complete their internships will receive a digital, tamper-proof certificate issued jointly by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and the participating organization, serving as verified proof of work experience.

The scheme also emphasizes industry exposure, enabling interns to work on live projects, manage responsibilities, and build a professional resume with credible experience.

According to program details, participants have already reported career gains. One example cited is Shweta, who developed technical skills and achieved financial independence during her internship at Tech Mahindra.
