Sayed Aamina Khataie, a resident of Sopore city in the Baramulla region of Jammu and Kashmir, has been selected by the Republic of Korea's Pusan National University as a scholar for the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) Program 2024.
The National Institute for International Education (NIIED), a division of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea, sponsors the program.
She is currently enroled at Pusan National University in South Korea as a GKS Scholar, pursuing her language year. She will begin her undergraduate studies in biological sciences next year as a GKS Scholar.
Aamina attended MET Higher Secondary School Sopore until her 12th grade, graduating in 2021.
Aamina expressed her gratitude, saying, "Being chosen as a GKS scholar is an outstanding achievement for her, and this prestigious opportunity marks a critical turning point in both her academic and personal development."
“I am incredibly honored and excited to have been selected for the GKS undergraduate scholarship program by NIIED and to attend Pusan National University. Being part of such a renowned institution will provide me with access to world-class education and resources, which I believe will greatly enhance my skills and knowledge,” she said.
“I am looking forward to immersing myself in South Korean culture, building international networks, and contributing to the academic community at Pusan National University,” she added.
According to Aamina, receiving this scholarship inspires her to pursue excellence in all of her future endeavors while also honoring her prior accomplishments. She said that this achievement represented a significant step toward fulfilling her long-term professional goals and having an effective impact in her field.
“This scholarship will be instrumental in my academic and professional growth. Academically, studying at Pusan National University will expose me to cutting-edge research, advanced coursework, and a diverse range of perspectives,” Aamina said.
“This will deepen my knowledge in my field of study and equip me with the skills necessary to excel. As I will major in biological sciences, I believe PNU offers a lot of opportunities in my field, which is biological sciences,” she added.
Aamina stated that her period in South Korea would provide her with essential career experience and networking opportunities due to her worldwide exposure.
“Engaging with professors, industry experts, and fellow students from around the world will broaden my horizons and open up numerous opportunities for collaboration and career advancement,” she said.
Aamina claimed that her capacity to operate in a global workplace would be improved by her cultural immersion and language learning, making her a more desirable and competitive candidate.
