Prof Arunoday Saha, trained in economics but passionate about literature, is overjoyed by the recognition of his literary works. This comes after his 2023 Tripura Vibhushan Award for contributions to education.
Tripura University's former vice-chancellor, Arunoday Saha, expressed his delight at receiving the Padma Shri for his contributions to education.
Although trained in economics, Saha revealed that his true passion lies in literature, and he was thrilled to have his literary work acknowledged with this prestigious award.
"I am really happy to find my name on this year's Padma Shri awardees' list. Despite having a PhD in Economics from a state university in the US, literature remains in my blood. It is good that my literary works have been evaluated and recognized finally. I thanked those who have chosen me for the prestigious award," he said on Jan 25.
Chief Minister Manik Saha took to Facebook to offer his heartfelt congratulations to Prof Arunoday Saha, former vice-chancellor of Tripura University, on being honored with the prestigious Padma Shri award for his contributions to literature and education.
"This well-deserved recognition honors his remarkable contributions to the fields of education and literature. As a renowned academic and writer, his contributions have inspired countless individuals,” added CM.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ratan Lal Nath also congratulated Saha on receiving the esteemed award.
"Congratulations to Prof Saha for being chosen for the prestigious Padma Shri award in literature and education. I also expressed my gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for paying respect to Tripura," wrote Nath.
Born in 1948 in Bishalgarh, Sepahijala district, Tripura, Prof Arunoday Saha has had a remarkable journey, evolving from a school teacher to the vice-chancellor of a central university.
A prolific author of 10 books, he was honored with the Tripura Vibhushan Award in 2023 for his exceptional contributions to education.
