Bringing decades of academic and industry experience, Prof Dwivedi plans to position IIM Kashipur as a globally respected, technology-driven, and multidisciplinary institution focused on quality and innovation.

Professor Neeraj Dwivedi has taken charge as the new director of the Indian Institute of Management Kashipur, bringing more than 25 years of combined experience from academia, the corporate world, and institutional leadership.
An IIM Lucknow alumnus, Prof Dwivedi earned his Fellow Programme in Management in Strategic Management.

He also holds an MTech degree from IIT Kharagpur and a BTech from GB Pant University in Pantnagar.
Before joining IIM Kashipur, he was with IIM Lucknow, where he served in multiple senior capacities, including Dean (Faculty and Programs) and Chairperson of key portfolios such as Postgraduate Programs, Admissions, Student Affairs, and Placements, and also held a position on the Board of Governors.
His leadership at IIM Lucknow was instrumental in the institute securing AACSB accreditation. He also played a pivotal role as the national convener for CAT 2017, one of India’s most complex and high-stakes competitive exams.
Apart from IIM Lucknow, his academic career includes teaching and research roles at IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode, and the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand.
He also spent nearly seven years in the corporate sector before transitioning to academia, working with organizations such as NTPC, Indian Oil, ONGC, Samsung, McKinsey & Co., and Tata Play.
Known for his subject-matter expertise in strategic management, corporate governance, leadership development, and mergers and acquisitions, Prof Dwivedi is widely respected among students and professionals alike.
His scholarly work has earned multiple accolades, including the Best Case Award at IIM Bangalore's Strategic Management Forum in 2010, the Best Research Paper Award at the IAMB Conference in San Antonio in 2013, and the Best Doctoral Student Paper Award at IAMB Rome in 2014.
His course on mergers and acquisitions was twice voted Best Strategy Elective at IIM Lucknow, and his co-authored paper was named runner-up at the INDAM Conference in Goa in 2024.
Speaking on his new appointment, Prof Neeraj Dwivedi said, "It is indeed an honor for me to take on the role of Director at the Indian Institute of Management Kashipur. I envision IIM Kashipur emerging as a globally respected management school by transforming itself into an agile, technology-driven, multidisciplinary institution having a reputation for quality."
