The program integrates academic learning with industry practice, offering internships, live projects, and training in tools like Python, SAP, and AI to enhance employability and career readiness for students.

NIIT University has partnered with Grant Thornton Bharat LLP to introduce a BBA in Applied Finance, aiming to align business education more closely with industry requirements and evolving workforce demands.
The collaboration focuses on integrating academic learning with practical exposure, moving beyond traditional degree-based models toward skill-oriented training designed for real-world applications.

Under the arrangement, NIIT University will handle academic delivery, faculty instruction, infrastructure, and student assessments.
Grant Thornton Bharat will contribute to curriculum design, mentorship, live projects, internship opportunities, and evaluation inputs, creating a blended learning framework.
The program includes up to 18 months of structured industry experience with stipend support, along with an application-driven curriculum where a significant portion of learning is based on practical work.
Students will also receive training in tools such as Excel, Python, SAP, Power BI, and artificial intelligence.
Additional features include opportunities for pre-placement offers through industry exposure and defined career pathways in finance and consulting roles, with compensation aligned to industry benchmarks.
The initiative is designed to ensure graduates enter the workforce with relevant skills, experience, and professional networks.
“At NIIT University, we believe that the future of education lies in its ability to connect seamlessly with the world of work. Our collaboration with Grant Thornton Bharat LLP is a direct reflection of this conviction,” said Prof Prakash Gopalan, President, NIIT University.
“By co-creating the BBA (Applied Finance) program, we are ensuring that students are not passive recipients of knowledge but active participants in real industry environments. This partnership will equip our students with the tools, exposure, and professional readiness needed to succeed in finance and consulting, domains that are central to India’s growth story,” added Prof Gopalan.
“At Grant Thornton Bharat, we have always believed that developing talent is as important as delivering excellence to our clients. Partnering with NIIT University on the BBA (Applied Finance) program allows us to do both by helping shape the next generation of finance and consulting professionals,” said Kapil Arora, Partner at Grant Thornton Bharat LLP.
“This co-created curriculum brings the depth of our industry expertise directly into the classroom, giving students a genuine head-start in their careers. We look forward to welcoming bright, well-prepared talent from this program into the broader Grant Thornton ecosystem,” added Arora.
