SRMIST welcomes 350 new MBBS & BDS students, highlighting ethics, innovation, research, and compassionate care to shape future-ready healthcare professionals.

“Being a good doctor or dentist is important, but equally important is developing yourself as a complete human being—through friendships, skills, and experiences.” Guiding them through the voices of wisdom and experience, Mr. Rajesh Bhushan IAS (Retd), Former Health Secretary of India and Advisor to SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, at the MBBS and BDS Induction Ceremony 2025 at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, which welcomed 350 students, setting the tone for years of learning, responsibility, and service that lie ahead.
Adding to that vision, Dr. Nitin M Nagarkar, Pro Vice-Chancellor (MHS), shared, "India's healthcare education is evolving rapidly. With competency-based medical and dental education, students are expected to master not only the science of medicine and dentistry, but also communication, ethics, compassion, community orientation, and clinical reasoning, to develop a well-rounded personality." His message was clear: today’s medical graduates must be rooted in ethics while embracing innovation.

Mr. C. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice-Chancellor of SRMIST, emphasised the importance of research, stating, “Your time at SRMIST isn’t just about learning facts—it’s about creating impact through research, innovation, and community service,” encouraging both medical and dental students to engage in research starting from their undergraduate programs.
