Narayana Business School Ahmedabad (NBS Ahmedabad) has partnered with Coursera to give its students access to self-paced learning, industry-relevant courses and globally recognized micro-credentials from leading universities and industry experts across the world.

The partnership gives NBS students direct access to the Coursera platform, with more than 28,000 courses covering a wide range of subjects. Students can explore courses in areas including Artificial Intelligence, data analytics, finance, business, leadership, communication, soft skills and other fields that are increasingly relevant to the workplace.

The partnership is designed to give students greater control over what they learn and when they learn it. Through self-paced courses, students can build additional skills alongside their academic programmes without being limited to a fixed classroom schedule.

A key part of the partnership is access to micro-credentials.

These are skill-based, verifiable credentials that allow learners to demonstrate specific competencies they have developed through structured learning. For students entering a competitive job market, such credentials can provide additional evidence of their skills alongside their academic qualifications.

Students can also use Coursera's Career Paths and Learning Paths to create learning journeys based on their career interests. Instead of selecting courses in isolation, students can follow a more structured sequence of learning focused on the skills and knowledge relevant to their chosen career direction.

The range of courses also allows students to build different types of skills during their time at Narayana Business School. A student interested in finance, for example, can complement their academic learning with courses in financial analysis or related areas. Someone preparing for a career in technology can explore Artificial Intelligence and data analytics, while students across disciplines can strengthen communication, leadership and other professional skills.

The self-paced format also places greater responsibility on students. Managing their own learning schedule, completing courses independently and continuing to learn outside the formal curriculum can help students develop habits that remain useful throughout their careers.

Speaking about the partnership, Dr. Purvi Gupta, Dean of Academic Affairs, Narayana Business School, said, “Our responsibility as a business school is to give students the knowledge and environment they need to build meaningful careers. Access to Coursera allows our students to learn from universities and industry experts across the world and choose additional skills based on where they want their careers to go. The opportunity to earn globally recognized and verifiable credentials also gives students a way to demonstrate the skills they have developed beyond their academic programme.”

The partnership also reflects the changing role of professional learning. As technology, tools and job requirements continue to evolve, professionals are increasingly required to learn new skills throughout their careers. Giving students access to a large learning platform while they are still at business school can help them develop this approach early.

The collaboration was formally signed with Abhishek Singh, Enterprise Account Executive at Coursera, representing Coursera in the partnership. NBS acknowledges his contribution to bringing the collaboration together and looks forward to building on the opportunities it creates for its students.

With access to Coursera's global learning ecosystem, NBS students can now supplement their classroom education with courses, learning paths and micro-credentials that reflect their individual interests and career goals.

For Narayana Business School, the partnership is an opportunity to make continuous learning a practical part of the student experience giving learners access to new subjects, new skills and recognized credentials that they can carry forward into their professional careers.
