The expansion includes an accelerated international degree pathway, new engineering courses, an Economics double major, industry micro-credentials, and certificate programs for school students and professionals.

Delhi Technological University (DTU) has unveiled a slate of new academic programs, interdisciplinary initiatives, and international collaborations as part of its plans for the 2026-27 academic session, coinciding with the institution's 85th anniversary.
Among the major announcements are two integrated BSc-MSc programs in Data Science and Applied Statistics, both scheduled to begin from the 2026-27 academic year.

DTU has also introduced a 4-and-1 Accelerated BTech-MS program in collaboration with the University of Houston in the US.
Under the program, students will complete their BTech at DTU before pursuing a master's degree at the University of Houston, with eligible academic credits transferable in accordance with the partner university's admission policies.
The university also announced plans to expand its undergraduate engineering offerings by launching a BTech in Mechanical and Automation Engineering from the 2026-27 session. Two additional BTech programs in Computer Science and Engineering and Quantum Technology are expected to begin from the 2027-28 academic session.
To promote interdisciplinary learning, DTU will introduce a double major in Economics for BTech students starting in 2026-27.
The curriculum includes subjects such as Network Economics, Platform Economics, Economics of AI, Game Theory, Mechanism Design, Machine Learning for Economics, and High-Frequency Algorithmic Trading, enabling engineering students to develop economic and analytical expertise alongside their technical education.
The university also said it is among the first institutions in India to embed industry-recognized micro-credential programs into its curriculum through partnerships with organizations including the National Institute of Solar Energy, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, ANSYS-Synopsys, Siemens, IRISET, Premas Life Sciences, and the Wadhwani Foundation.
These programs span renewable energy, semiconductor design, railway signaling, biotechnology, and entrepreneurship.
For school students, DTU has introduced a six-week, three-credit Certificate Course on Applied AI, Data Analytics and Entrepreneurship for learners from Class 9 onward.
The university has also launched a Sports Analytics Program focused on artificial intelligence, data analytics, and performance analysis.
Working professionals will be able to enroll in online certificate programs offered through DTU's Centre for Technology Enhanced Learning (CTEL). The programs cover Artificial Intelligence, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Management, and CSR, ESG & Corporate Sustainability.
Speaking at the event, DTU Vice Chancellor Prof. Prateek Sharma said the university's initiatives are aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 and India's aspiration to become a global knowledge economy through interdisciplinary education, research excellence, industry partnerships, and entrepreneurship while advancing the goals of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat.
Highlighting its research achievements, the university said it secured nearly 40 patents over the past year and received major research funding from agencies including ANRF, MeitY, DRDO, ISRO, and the Ministry of Science & Technology.
DTU has also introduced new faculty support initiatives, including the Young Faculty Grant, Equipment Matching Grant, Faculty Interdisciplinary Research Project, and Multi-Institutional Faculty Interdisciplinary Research Project. Institutional awards have also been established to recognize excellence in sponsored research and timely completion of doctoral research.
The university further expanded its industry partnerships by signing collaboration agreements with organizations including ASSOCHAM, Esri India, the Indian Army, Defence Space Agency, Bajaj Auto Limited, GRIHA Council, Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited, National Council for Cement and Building Materials, CSIR-NPL, IUAC, IRISET, Darshan Education Foundation, Premas Life Sciences, Navjyoti India Foundation, ANSYS-Synopsys, ICMAI, and the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
