Concerning the Livestock Disease and Health Control Program (LHDCP): By putting in place preventative immunization programs against a variety of livestock and poultry diseases, the LHDCP seeks to improve the animal health sector.

It addresses capacity building, veterinary infrastructure strengthening, and disease surveillance.
Its three primary components are Pashu Aushadhi, Livestock Health & Disease Control (LH&DC), and the National Animal Disease Control Program (NADCP).
In order to increase the availability of generic veterinary medicine through the network of PM-Kisan Samriddhi Kendra and Cooperative Societies, Pashu Aushadhi was added as a new component.

The National Livestock Mission (NLM) aims to increase the production of feed and fodder, as well as entrepreneurship and breed advancement in pigs, sheep, goats, and poultry.
Increasing the capacity for processing meat and milk is the goal of the Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF).
The Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM) aims to increase cow productivity and milk production.
