GPI evaluates nations based on 23 measures within 3 major areas:

Community Safety & Security (offense rates, governmental stability, refugee influence).

Continued Domestic & Global Strife (combat, extremism, social turmoil).

Militarization (defense spending, arms trade, military personnel).

Trends and Rankings (2025):

Leading performers: Iceland (1st), then Ireland, New Zealand, Finland, Austria, Switzerland, Singapore, Portugal, Denmark, Slovenia.

Least tranquil: Russia, Ukraine, Sudan, DR Congo, Yemen.

Europe leads the top 10 rankings.

South America demonstrated progress (Argentina, Peru).

Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East continue to be the most unpeaceful regions.

The global average of peacefulness decreased because of internal conflicts, increased militarisation, and geopolitical rifts.
