Young Scientist Programme offers Class 9 students hands-on training and interaction with space scientists

The Indian Space Research Organisation has opened applications for the Young Scientist Programme (YUVIKA) 2026, an initiative aimed at inspiring school students to pursue careers in space science and technology. The programme is designed to nurture scientific curiosity among young learners across the country.
Under the initiative, students currently studying in Class 9 will be eligible to participate. Selected candidates will attend a two-week residential training programme conducted at various ISRO centres across India. During the programme, students will gain exposure to space science concepts, satellite technology, and space exploration missions.

Participants will also have the opportunity to interact with scientists and engineers working at ISRO. The training includes practical demonstrations, laboratory visits, and hands-on learning activities designed to provide real-world insights into space research and technology development.
The YUVIKA programme is expected to play an important role in promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education among students. By engaging young minds early, the initiative aims to build a strong foundation of future scientists and engineers who can contribute to India’s growing space sector.
