India Says There Should Be Representation And Fair Global Governance

India says that the United Nations needs to change a lot. India thinks that global institutions should be based on the situation in the world. India has always said that the current system, the UN Security Council does not represent the interests of developing countries like India.
Key Highlights:

One of the things India wants is to make the United Nations Security Council bigger. India thinks that the Council should have members so that it can represent more countries and be more effective. The current system was made after World War II and India thinks it is old and does not work for the global situation.
India also wants representation for developing countries especially from Asia, Africa and Latin America. These countries have a lot of people. Do a lot of business but they do not have a big say in global decisions.
India wants global institutions to be transparent and fair. India thinks that these institutions should work in a way that includes everyone and is accountable to everyone. This way they can solve global problems like climate change, terrorism and health crises.India is working with countries to make these changes happen.
Significance:
Indias push for change in the United Nations helps its case for being a member of the UN Security Council. As a democracy a major economy and a country that helps with UN peacekeeping India thinks it deserves a bigger role, in global decisions.
Indias push for change also helps create a global system where developing countries have a bigger say.A representative and transparent United Nations can help countries work together better to solve global problems.
India keeps saying that the United Nations needs to change because it wants a global system. India wants to make the United Nations bigger, inclusive and more fair so that it can work better for everyone.
