The NTA has postponed the exam citing manpower issues caused due to the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. The exam will now be conducted on May 29.
Common University Entrance Test, Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2024 exam being conducted on May 15 across India has been postponed for all Delhi centers, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has said.
“It is being informed to all the concerned candidates and stakeholders that due to unavoidable reasons, the test papers (Chemistry -306, Biology – 304, English – 101, and General Test – 501) which were earlier scheduled on 15 May 2024 stand postponed for the candidates appearing in Centers across Delhi only. The examination will now be held on 29 of May 2024. The revised admit Cards will be issued for candidates appearing in center across Delhi,” the NTA said in an official notice.
The announcement has come a few hours before the exam begins for exam centers across the country on May 15.

“CUET UG is held at a large scale and we had selected several exam centers and invigilators are deployed for this process. However, we were facing issues in getting appropriate amount of invigilators in Delhi exam centers for the May 15 exam due to the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. So, NTA has decided to conduct the May 15 exam after elections, i.e. May 29,” an NTA official said, as reported by Indian Express.
This year’s, CUET UG is being conducted in hybrid mode with 15 subjects in pen and paper mode and 48 subjects in computer based-mode.
Over 13.4 lakh candidates registered for the common entrance test for admission to undergraduate courses in 261 central, state, deemed, and private universities, the National Testing Agency (NTA) said.
