CUET PG 2026 begins March 6, NTA issues exam day guidelines

The Common University Entrance Test for postgraduate admissions, CUET PG 2026, will begin on March 6, with the National Testing Agency conducting the examination through March 27 in computer-based mode at designated centers across the country.

Ahead of the exam cycle, the NTA has issued detailed instructions outlining reporting requirements, biometric verification procedures, required documents, and exam day protocols.

Candidates have been advised to carefully review their admit cards and confirm that details such as exam date, shift, subject, and test center location are accurate.

In the notice, the NTA stated, “The National Testing Agency is conducting the Common University Entrance Test CUET (PG)–2026 between 06 March 2026 and 27 March 2026. We hope that you have downloaded the Admit Card and are now fully prepared to appear for the CUET PG 2026 examination on the date, shift, course, and venue of the Test Centre as indicated on the Admit Card.”

Candidates have been instructed to check the reporting time and gate closing time mentioned on the admit card and to visit the test center location at least one day in advance to avoid confusion.

“Candidates are advised to verify the location of their test venue at least one day in advance to avoid any inconvenience on the day of the examination,” the notice added.

Persons with Disabilities have been specifically encouraged to inspect the venue beforehand and promptly report any center-related concerns to the NTA.

The agency has clarified that candidates who did not complete registration through Aadhaar or opted for alternative identity authentication must arrive earlier than usual. These candidates are required to report at least one hour before the gate closing time to complete additional verification formalities.

The NTA also cautioned candidates against engaging in unfair practices. “No candidate should adopt any unfair means or indulge in any unfair examination practices, as the examination centers are under surveillance of live surveillance CCTV and equipped with jammers,” the NTA said, warning that violations may result in strict action, including disqualification from future examinations.

Candidates appearing for CUET PG 2026 must carry a printed copy of their admit card downloaded from the official NTA website, preferably a clear color printout on A4-size paper, along with two passport-size photographs, one of which will be affixed to the attendance sheet at the center.

They must also present one original valid government-issued photo ID, such as a PAN card, driving license, voter ID, passport, Aadhaar card with photograph, e-Aadhaar, ration card, or Aadhaar enrollment number with photo. Photocopies, scanned images on mobile phones, or attested copies will not be accepted.

Candidates whose Aadhaar authentication did not match during the application process must ensure they carry valid identification and report early. Students have also been advised to confirm that their Aadhaar biometric authentication is not locked on the day of the exam.

Electronic devices and personal belongings are strictly prohibited inside the examination center. Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, and other electronic gadgets are not allowed, and authorities will not be responsible for safeguarding personal items.

However, diabetic candidates may carry sugar tablets or fruits such as bananas, apples, or oranges, along with a transparent water bottle. Packed food items including chocolates and sandwiches are not permitted.

The NTA has reminded candidates that procedures such as frisking, biometric verification, and attendance marking will be completed before the examination begins.

Students must report at the time specified on their admit cards, as entry will not be permitted after the gate closing time under any circumstances.

As the examination will be conducted in computer-based mode, candidates are also advised to familiarize themselves with the online test interface and ensure that the subject and medium displayed on the screen match the details mentioned on the admit card.
