CLAT is the national entrance exam for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate law programs offered by 22 National Law Universities (NLUs) across India.
To be eligible for the five-year integrated LLB program, applicants must have completed or be appearing for their Class 12 examination in the current academic year.

For the postgraduate LLM program, applicants must possess an LLB degree or be in the final year of their LLB course.
The minimum qualifying marks are 50% for General, OBC, PwD, and NRI candidates, and 45% for SC and ST applicants.
The application fee for CLAT 2026 depends on the candidate's category and whether they opt to access previous years’ question papers.
For General, OBC, PwD, NRI, PIO, and OCI candidates, the fee is ₹4,000, and ₹4,500 with question papers. For SC, ST, and BPL candidates, the fee is ₹3,500, and ₹4,000 with question papers.
Candidates must prepare the required documents in advance, including scanned copies of Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, valid identity and address proof such as an Aadhaar or PAN card, a state domicile certificate (if applicable), a caste/category certificate for SC/ST/OBC applicants, and a disability or BPL certificate from a competent authority.
The registration process includes creating an account on the official website using basic details, verifying it through an OTP, filling in personal and academic information, selecting up to three preferred test centers, uploading documents, paying the fee, and submitting the application form. A confirmation page will be available for download after submission.
Applicants are advised to visit the official CLAT website regularly for updates regarding the exam pattern, admit card release, and further instructions related to the admission process.
