K T Rama Rao alleged that the Congress-led Telangana government is denying fee reimbursements to poor and middle-class students, accusing it of neglecting welfare schemes and weakening the state’s education sector.

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K T Rama Rao on Nov 4 accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s government of deliberately holding back more than ₹10,000 crore in fee reimbursement dues.
He said the move has hurt lakhs of students from economically weaker and middle-class families across Telangana.

Campaigning in Somajiguda for the Jubilee Hills bypoll, Rama Rao alleged that the Congress government was intentionally neglecting students’ welfare and creating obstacles for those pursuing higher education.
He claimed that the delay in clearing reimbursements was part of a broader effort to “weaken Telangana’s educated youth” and crush the aspirations of families who depend on education for progress.
“The Revanth Reddy government, instead of clearing the pending dues, has been intimidating private colleges and educational institutions already struggling to survive,” he said, accusing the administration of targeting the education sector instead of supporting it.

The BRS leader further charged that since the Congress came to power, they have halted several welfare initiatives launched during the previous government's tenure.
He listed schemes such as Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, KCR Kits, Bathukamma saree distribution, Ramzan and Christmas gifts, and the free water supply program in Hyderabad as examples of programs that have been discontinued.
Mr. Rama Rao urged voters in the Jubilee Hills constituency to use the bypoll as an opportunity to “teach the Congress a lesson,” saying it would send a strong message from the four crore people of Telangana who, he alleged, have been “betrayed” by the current regime.
