The program enhances campus safety, mental health support, and academic resources, introducing wellness officers, counseling services, upgraded facilities, and structured student-focused initiatives across all campuses.

BITS Pilani has launched a new initiative, BITS CARES (Comprehensive Action for Resilience, Empathy, and Support), aimed at enhancing student welfare across its Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad campuses.
The program, developed by the Student Welfare Division, seeks to improve safety, well-being, and academic support for students.

Campus safety will be strengthened with upgraded surveillance and cybersecurity systems, complemented by a digital wellness dashboard.
Hostels will receive increased caretaker staffing, dedicated wellness officers, and facility renovations.
Students will also benefit from expanded counselling services, wellness coaches, open gyms, and regular wellness assessments.
Academically, BITS CARES will offer enhanced support through expanded placement cells, extended induction programs, and protocols for handling sensitive situations.
The initiative will operate through a multi-tiered structure with campus-level committees, institutional oversight, and a university-level steering system, ensuring transparency through regular audits and feedback mechanisms.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment where students can thrive academically and personally,” a BITS Pilani spokesperson said.
BITS Pilani joins other premier institutions, such as IIT Bombay, which recently launched “Beyond the Resume,” an eight-week program to build communication, teamwork, confidence, and emotional resilience among students.
