Dr BR Ambedkar University, Delhi (AUD) has rolled-out a new postgraduate program in public policy and governance for the academic session 2024-25.
In a press conference on Tuesday, the Vice-Chancellor announced that there will be 48 new short-term courses as well.
MA in public policy and governance will have 60 seats, and the admissions will be based on the National Testing Agency’s Common University Entrance Test (CUET).

The Vice Chancellor of AUD, Anu Singh Lather in a press conference said that this year through CUET, approximately 3,09,237 students applied for the undergraduate courses while 89,773 have shown interest in postgraduate programmes.
Ambedkar University, Delhi has been ranked seventh among the top ten universities across the country, said Lather adding that the University has 85 per cent of the seats reserved for Delhi students and the remaining 15 per cent are for students outside of Delhi.
Meanwhile, the Competence Enhancement Scheme courses will be a short-term course spanning six months. Students will get credits for these courses which will be added to their Academic Bank of Credit account and they can be used to pursue a degree or diploma from any university, the V-C said.
“From this time onwards, a provision for the reservation of one seat under the orphan quota has also been made in each programme. The entire fee will be waived for students taking admission under this category,” said Lather during the brochure launch for undergraduate and postgraduate admissions.
Under the university’s MRF scheme for research scholars, an allowance equal to the University Grant Commission’ (UGC) Junior Research Fellowship will be given to the merit holders.
Apart from JRF in the University, research scholars without NET, JRF will also be given an allowance of Rs 16 thousand per month.
Presently, there are 18 undergraduate and 27 postgraduate programs available for admission in Ambedkar University. This year admissions will be made on a total of 2,595 seats in all these programs, out of which 1,141 are undergraduate and 1454 seats will be available for postgraduate.
Admissions for PhD (23 programs) will also be done in June which will be done on the basis of CUET only, said the vice chancellor.
