Mukesh Ambani has once again claimed the crown as India’s wealthiest individual, topping the Hurun India Rich List 2025 with a staggering net worth of ₹9.55 lakh crore, according to the 14th edition of the M3M Hurun India Rich List.
Gautam Adani and his family follow closely at ₹8.15 lakh crore, underscoring the fierce rivalry at the apex of India’s billionaire hierarchy.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has joined the billionaire club for the first time, his fortune now pegged at ₹12,490 crore, demonstrating that fame and business acumen can go hand in hand.

Roshni Nadar Malhotra and her family have broken into the top three for the first time, with a net worth of ₹2.84 lakh crore, making her India’s richest woman. The rise of new entrants like her highlights the growing impact of women entrepreneurs reshaping the nation’s wealth landscape.
India’s billionaire boom continues
The Hurun report shows India’s billionaire numbers have surged past 350—a sixfold increase since the list began 13 years ago—with collective wealth reaching ₹167 lakh crore, nearly half of India’s GDP. Young wealth creators are making waves: Aravind Srinivas, 31, founder of Perplexity, became India’s youngest billionaire at ₹21,190 crore.
In terms of absolute gains, Niraj Bajaj and his family posted the largest jump, adding ₹69,875 crore to reach ₹2.33 lakh crore, reflecting the dynamic and fast-paced nature of India’s wealth creation.
Mumbai remains the billionaire hub

Mumbai continues to dominate as the epicenter of wealth, housing 451 billionaires, followed by New Delhi (223) and Bengaluru (116). Pharmaceuticals lead the sectoral charts with 137 entrants, while industrial products (132) and chemicals & petrochemicals (125) follow closely.
Women and self-made entrepreneurs on the rise
The 2025 list features 101 women, including 26 dollar billionaires. Self-made entrepreneurs remain the backbone of wealth creation, accounting for 66% of the list. Among new entrants, 74% built their fortunes from scratch, underscoring India’s enduring entrepreneurial spirit.
