Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi will visit the UAE from September 8 to strengthen investment partnerships, showcase opportunities and accelerate industrial growth in the state.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will lead the state’s second international investment outreach with a three-day visit to the United Arab Emirates next week, aimed at strengthening global investment partnerships and accelerating industrial growth in Odisha. The Chief Minister is likely to leave on September 8. The visit is part of the state government’s continued efforts to engage global investors and business communities and showcase Odisha’s industrial capabilities, investment opportunities and investor-friendly ecosystem.
The UAE outreach will focus on government-to-business and business-to-business engagements, investment discussions and presentations on Odisha’s economic and industrial potential to leading investors, institutions and members of the Indian business community in the region. With its strategic location, robust infrastructure, natural resources, skilled workforce and expanding industrial ecosystem, Odisha offers investment opportunities across manufacturing, metals and downstream industries, energy, petrochemicals, aluminium, logistics, food processing and emerging sectors. Hemant Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries, Home and I&PR Departments, said the UAE offered significant opportunities for deeper engagement with investors and business leaders.

“Odisha today presents a strong combination of resources, infrastructure, policy support, connectivity and a rapidly expanding industrial ecosystem. Our objective is to build partnerships that translate into investments, industrial growth and employment opportunities in Odisha,” Sharma said. The visit will also focus on strengthening engagement with the Indian business and professional community and the Odia diaspora in the UAE.
The outreach is part of Odisha’s broader strategy to attract quality investments, accelerate industrialisation and create sustainable employment opportunities, while strengthening the state’s position as a leading investment destination. These projects are expected to generate substantial employment opportunities across various sectors and create new avenues for livelihoods, particularly for the state’s youth and skilled workforce. According to official sources, Odisha has reportedly attracted investment proposals worth around Rs 21 lakh crore during the past two years. Meanwhile, of these, industrial projects worth Rs 3.5 lakh crore have already been inaugurated or grounded, generating employment opportunities and encouraging reverse migration.
