
IMD has issued an orange alert in the Delhi-NCR from June 11 to 13.

Nagaon is said to be the worst-affected district where more than 3 lakh people remained affected, followed by Cachar and Hojai.

The maximum number of fatalities was recorded from Uttar Pradesh (17), followed by Bihar which reported 14 deaths on Friday.

Since cities are more vulnerable to the effects of urbanization and climate change, greater number of hotter days, increased number of dry spells and less rainy days are expected.

The fine will be imposed for washing of cars with pipes, overflowing water tanks and use of domestic water for construction and commercial purposes.


Apart from Delhi, many places in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh have measured record highest maximum temperatures for this season.
