Tensions have escalated between Iran and Israel after the Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus has resulted in the seven revolutionary guards, including two IRGC generals.

Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, warned on Wednesday that Israel "must be punished and will be punished” for the April 1 attack, days after one of his advisers said Israeli embassies are “no longer safe.”
The attack on the Iranian consulate led to the destruction of the building and casualties, with Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a senior commander in the elite Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), among those killed.
The strike in Damascus is the latest in a series of attacks on Iranian targets in Syria, with Israel accusing Iran of using the country as a base to launch attacks against Israel.
The incident has sparked outrage in Iran, with officials vowing a harsh response to the attack. Meanwhile, the US has shown concern that Iran might target the country as part of a potential retaliation for Israel’s April 1.
