Delhi-Mumbai flight grounded for nearly 7 hours as two unruly passengers defy crew orders, try to force entry into cockpit while aircraft was taxiing.

A Delhi-Mumbai SpiceJet flight faced a dramatic disruption on July 14 after two passengers attempted to storm the cockpit, triggering a major security scare and a delay of nearly seven hours.
Flight SG 9282, scheduled to take off at 12:30 pm from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, was taxiing toward the runway when the two individuals suddenly tried to force their way into the cockpit. According to the airline, the duo repeatedly ignored instructions from the cabin crew, fellow passengers, and even the Captain to return to their seats.

“In the interest of the safety of all passengers and crew, the Captain made the call to return the aircraft to the bay,” SpiceJet said in an official statement.
The airline confirmed that the two passengers were offloaded and handed over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which is in charge of airport security.
Flight tracking data from Flightradar24 shows the aircraft eventually took off at 7:21 pm, nearly seven hours behind schedule.
The motive behind the disruptive act remains unclear, but the incident has once again raised questions over in-flight passenger conduct and security enforcement during taxiing — a crucial phase of flight operations.
