Ola gears up for 10-minute food delivery launch in Bengaluru
Ola is preparing to introduce a 10-minute food delivery service through ‘Ola Dash,’ beginning in Bengaluru, according to reports.
This move places Ola in direct competition with fast-delivery platforms like Zepto Cafe, Swiggy Bolt, and Blinkit’s Bistro, which already offer rapid food delivery from quick-service restaurants.
Launched via ONDC in June this year, Ola Dash operates as the company’s food delivery wing. Currently, its services are available in select areas of Bengaluru through the main Ola app.
Listings on the app show that only restaurants located within a 1-kilometer radius are eligible for the service.
However, Ola has not officially confirmed its plans to expand the offering into a 10-minute delivery format.
Bengaluru has been a strategic hub for Ola’s service launches. In October last year, Ola debuted ‘Ola Parcel,’ a city-based package delivery service using its electric scooters. Delivery charges were set at ₹25 for 5 km, ₹50 for 10 km, ₹75 for 15 km, and ₹100 for 20 km.
Around the same time, Ola also rolled out its electric bike taxi service in Bengaluru, marking its first foray into electric two-wheeler transportation.
The company had previously operated bike taxis but transitioned to electric models for eco-friendly commuting. Pricing for bike taxis was fixed at ₹25 for 5 kilometers and ₹50 for 10 kilometers.
The rising demand for ultra-fast deliveries has prompted several food and grocery platforms to develop dedicated services.
Some companies have partnered with nearby restaurants, while others have set up proprietary kitchens offering snacks like samosas, sandwiches, and coffee.
Ola’s 10-minute delivery initiative reflects this growing industry trend toward lightning-fast food fulfillment.
