After Madame Tussauds Museum in Singapore and Delhi, renowned cricketer Virat Kohli now gets a wax statue in Jaipur’s wax museum.
The statue weighing 35 kg was unveiled on Thursday on occasion of World Heritage Day. It took about two months for the sculpture to get ready for inauguration.
“They(tourists) had a strong opinion that Kohli’s statue should be in the museum. The wax statue was unveiled today on World Heritage Day,” said Anoop Srivastava, founder director of the museum.
The museum, located on the Nahargarh fort premises, already has 44 wax statues, including those of cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
The museum also has the statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru, APJ Abdul Kalam, Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Kalpana Chawala, Amitabh Bachchan and Mother Teresa.
Kohli's wax statue in Delhi’s Madam Tussauds was unveiled in 2018.
