The collaboration aims to deliver executive training, foster academic research, and create opportunities for NHPC professionals through specialized programs, consultancy, internships, and national and international knowledge-sharing platforms.
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu has entered into a strategic partnership with NHPC Limited, a prominent Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Power, to boost executive education, research collaboration, and professional development.
Under this agreement, IIM Jammu will conduct specialized executive development programs tailored for NHPC personnel, along with offering consulting support and academic opportunities such as Executive MBA and PhD programs.
The collaboration is also set to open avenues for summer internships, joint research projects, and national and international conferences focused on knowledge sharing.
According to officials, the tie-up will help align NHPC’s talent development goals with IIM Jammu’s academic and research strengths.
“The agreement represents a significant milestone in NHPC’s ongoing pursuit of academic and professional excellence,” said Uttam Lal, director of personnel at NHPC Limited.
He praised IIM Jammu’s “innovative and structured approach to capacity building” and added that the partnership will support the company’s long-term human resource strategy.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by Kesavan Baskkaran, chief administrative officer at IIM Jammu, and Rajeev R Asthana, general manager (HRD) at NHPC Limited, during a formal ceremony at NHPC’s Corporate Office in Faridabad.
Senior representatives from both organizations, including Rajesh Sikka, co-chairperson of Executive Education and Consultancy at IIM Jammu, were present during the event.
BS Sahay, director of IIM Jammu, said the collaboration marks a step forward in building institutional capacity for the public sector.
“This partnership will serve as a platform for knowledge exchange, organizational development, and leadership training,” he said, reiterating the institute’s “unwavering commitment” to contributing to national development through partnerships with public enterprises.
