Shekhawat criticized comparisons between India and Bangladesh made by Congress leaders, asserting that India, under Modi, is distinct and stable, with the government actively ensuring national security.

Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has recently criticized those who suggest that India could experience a situation similar to the political turmoil in Bangladesh.
Shekhawat strongly refuted these claims, emphasizing that India, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, is distinct from Bangladesh.
He suggested that those making such comparisons may not fully grasp the differences between the two nations or the current political climate in India.
In his remarks, Shekhawat expressed disapproval of recent statements by senior Congress leaders Salman Khurshid and Mani Shankar Aiyar, who had compared the situation in Bangladesh to the conditions in India.
"They have talked about replicating this template in India. They probably don't know that this is not Bangladesh; this is India, and Modi ji's India. Those who would do this should understand what would happen to them," Shekhawat said.
Khurshid had voiced concerns at a book release event, noting that while India might appear stable on the surface, it could potentially face issues similar to those in Bangladesh.
"Everything may look normal on the surface; what is happening in Bangladesh could happen in India,” said Khurshid.
Similarly, Aiyar had drawn parallels between the two countries' situations.
Shekhawat condemned these comparisons, arguing that such comments were both misguided and dangerous. He emphasized that the Indian government is vigilant about the developments in Bangladesh and is actively monitoring the situation to ensure that similar issues do not arise in India.
Shekhawat made it clear that the Indian government, under Modi’s leadership, is committed to maintaining stability and addressing any potential threats to national security and public order.
