Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on Tuesday, reaffirmed BJP’s pledge to enforce the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) across the nation upon their return to power. In his interaction with the media, Shah dismissed the idea of accommodating personal laws, such as the Muslim Personal Law Board, emphasizing the need for the UCC.
Shah launched a sharp criticism against the Congress, particularly targeting its reservation policies and condemning any allotment based on religion. He accused the Congress of shifting reservations from OBCs to Muslims, pointing to the swift implementation of a 4% job reservation for Muslims in Karnataka following their rise to power. Shah clarified that the BJP staunchly supports reservations for SCs, STs, and OBCs, debunking any misconceptions propagated by the Congress.

In light of the sexual harassment case involving JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna, Shah reiterated BJP’s unwavering commitment to women’s empowerment. He called for stringent action against the offender, blaming the Congress-led Karnataka government for its lack of action.
Expressing confidence in BJP’s electoral prospects, Shah predicted a resounding victory with over 400 seats. He cited widespread support from people across states, from Andhra Pradesh to Arunachal Pradesh, as evidence of BJP’s broad appeal.
Shah dismissed Congress’s attempts to spread a false narrative, particularly regarding alleged changes to the Constitution under a BJP-led government, labeling such claims as baseless fear-mongering. He highlighted the decisive mandates given to the BJP in 2014 and 2019, which enabled significant legislative reforms such as the abrogation of Article 370 and the prohibition of triple talaq.
Shah also conducted a roadshow in Guwahati on Monday to rally support for the party’s Lok Sabha election candidate.
