Dilawar, a BJP leader, has announced the formation of a committee to review school textbooks for content that might negatively depict national heroes or instill a sense of inferiority among students.
Madan Dilawar, the Education Minister of Rajasthan, has reiterated his stance that Akbar was a 'rapist', based on historical accounts. He has been vocal about this perspective in public forums and schools recently.
Dilawar, a BJP leader, has announced the formation of a committee to review school textbooks for content that might negatively depict national heroes or instill a sense of inferiority among students.
Dilawar claims to have come across historical narratives that suggest Akbar organized 'Meena Bazaar' to abduct, rape, and assault women. When questioned about the absence of this claim in historical documents or textbooks, he responded that he and his acquaintances have encountered similar narratives in their readings of historical accounts.
Regarding textbooks, Dilawar clarified that he has not proposed any revisions but wants them to be examined. The committee will evaluate the current textbooks, which were revised by the previous Congress government. The aim is to ensure that textbooks do not demean national heroes or foster a sense of inferiority among students. If controversial content is identified, appropriate actions will be taken.
In response to a question about implementing Surya Namaskar as a daily routine in government schools, Dilawar mentioned that while no official order has been issued, he has suggested conducting it after school prayers.
