“No Need of Kamal Nath in BJP, Doors close for him,” Says Vijayvargiya
Jabalpur (PTI): Kailash Vijayvargiya, who is Madhya Pradesh's minister has stated that the BJP does not require Kamal Nath, and their doors are shut for him. This statement comes amidst uncertainty regarding the next course of action for the senior Congress leader.
When questioned about the rumours of Nath joining the BJP, the former BJP general secretary responded with the above statement.
“I had said there is no need of Kamal Nath in our party and that's why its doors were closed for him,” he told reporters here on Wednesday.
There have been many rumours surrounding the recent visit of former MP Chief Minister Nath and his son Nakul Nath to New Delhi.
However, Nath's close aide Sajjan Singh Verma has denied reports that the 77-year-old veteran Congress leader is planning to join the BJP.
Meanwhile, several local leaders of the Congress party from Nath's stronghold in MP's Chhindwara district have defected to the BJP on Wednesday.
When asked about Digvijaya Singh's comments on the extradition of fugitive diamond merchant Nirav Modi, Vijayvargiya dismissed the senior Congress leader's remarks, stating that Singh and others like him are frustrated.
They know that their future is bleak given that their party’s leader has become redundant, said Vijayvargiya, adding, “So, in frustration they say anything.”
