The Election Commission of India (ECI) states that the final day for submitting nominations is April 19th, with the review of nominations set for April 20th.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) is set to release the announcement for the third round of voting in the Lok Sabha elections this Friday. The commencement of nominations for this phase will coincide with the release of the announcement.
The ECI has communicated that the nomination process for the third phase of the 2024 General Elections will kick off tomorrow. The official Gazette notification for 94 Parliamentary Constituencies (PCs) spanning 12 States/Union Territories participating in the Lok Sabha 2024 General Elections will be released then.
In addition, the ECI has indicated that a separate announcement for the postponed poll in Betul PC of Madhya Pradesh will also be made on Friday. The ECI stated, "The voting in these 94 PCs, along with the rescheduled poll in Betul, will occur on May 7th." The third phase includes Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Goa, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
As per the ECI, the deadline for submitting nominations is April 19th, and the review of nominations will take place on April 20th. The Lok Sabha elections will be conducted in seven phases from April 19th to June 1st, with the results being announced on June 4th.
