Lok Sabha Election 2024 Phase 2 Voting Live Updates: The second phase of the general elections kicked off on Friday, with voting taking place for 88 seats across 13 states and Union Territories. According to data from the Election Commission, as of 9 am, three constituencies in West Bengal had the highest voter turnout, with over 15% of eligible voters casting their votes. In contrast, eight seats in Maharashtra had the lowest turnout at 7.45%.
By the end of the day, a third of the total 543 Lok Sabha seats will have completed polling. This includes all the seats in Kerala, Rajasthan, Manipur, and Tripura, as well as 14 of the 28 seats in Karnataka. Other constituencies participating in the electoral process include eight each in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, seven in Madhya Pradesh, five each in Assam and Bihar, three in West Bengal and Chhattisgarh, and one in Jammu and Kashmir.

In terms of candidate participation, a total of 1,210 candidates are in the fray today. The BSP has fielded the most candidates in this phase at 74, followed closely by the BJP at 69 and the Congress at 68. Karnataka, which has 14 seats going to polls, has the highest number of candidates at 247, followed by Maharashtra (8 seats) at 204 and Kerala (all its 20 seats) at 189.
