The second phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 is underway on Friday and the voter turnout that was recorded till 11 am varied from 18.83 per cent to 36.42 per cent across 88 constituencies in 13 states and union territories.
Tripura recorded the highest voting percentage of 36.42 till 11 am, while the lowest voter turnout was in Maharashtra with 18.83 per cent, reported news agency PTI.

The Tripura East Lok Sabha constituency recorded a voter turnout of 36.79 per cent. "The polling has largely remained peaceful, with no untoward incident reported till 11 am. The average voting stands at 36.79 per cent,” an official said.
Approximately, 14 lakh voters, including 6.94 lakh women and 13 transgenders, will decide the fate of nine candidates in the second phase of the Lok Sabha polls in Tripura.
Meanwhile, reports have emerged of EVM glitches in some booths in Kerala and West Bengal. Kerala reported polling percentage of 25.61 per cent with reports of electronic voting machine (EVM) breakdowns in some booths of the state.
In Manipur a voter turnout of 33.22 per cent was recorded till 11 am on Friday as polling was underway in the remaining parts of the Outer Manipur Lok Sabha constituency amid tight security. Fifteen assembly segments of the Outer Manipur Lok Sabha constituency went to the polls in the first phase on April 19 along with the whole of the Inner Manipur seat.
An estimated 22.34 per cent voter turnout was recorded in the first four hours in 14 constituencies in Karnataka. Around 35 per cent of the electorate cast their votes in the first four hours of polling in three Lok Sabha constituencies, all having Naxalite presence, of Chhattisgarh.
In Uttar Pradesh, a voter turnout of 24.31 per cent was recorded across eight parliamentary constituencies. The polling in the state began at 7 am and will continue till 6 pm. There are more than 1.67 crore voters, 7,797 polling stations and 17,704 polling booths in these eight Lok Sabha constituencies.
An estimated 27.43 per cent of 77,26,668 voters in Assam exercised their franchise till 11 am in the five parliamentary constituencies where polling is underway in the second phase on Friday, election officials said. Polling in the north-eastern state began at 7 am and will continue till 5 pm. Sixty-one candidates are in the fray in this phase.

Madhya Pradesh saw about 28.15 per cent of voters casting their ballots in six Lok Sabha constituencies, while West Bengal recorded nearly 31.25 per cent voters exercising their vote in three Lok Sabha constituencies. The Election Commission has registered 290 complaints, mostly related to EVM malfunctioning, in the state.
The turnout in the first phase was recorded at 62.37 per cent which may still be revised upwards as votes are tallied. The voting percentage in the first phase in 2019 was 69.43 per cent when 91 seats went to the polls.
