Ballia (UP): A 23-year-old woman allegedly took her own life by hanging herself at her residence here, as reported by the police on Wednesday. The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon in the town of Ibrahimpatti, within the jurisdiction of the Bhimpura police station, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohammad Fahim Qureshi.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police promptly arrived at the scene and took charge of the body, the DSP stated. Local residents informed the police that the woman was reportedly involved in a romantic relationship with a young man. Following their breakup, she became distressed and resorted to this drastic measure, the police added.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination and further investigation into the matter is ongoing, the DSP confirmed.
