Income Tax Department raided the residence of Harmilap Traders' owner Ram Nath Dang, seizing piles of cash. Officials had to bring in cash counting machines from the bank as they worked through the night to tally the cash. The amount was so large that the process was difficult even for the machines.
Targeting three shoe traders in Agra and spanning over six locations, the raid was conducted on May 18. The operation involved more than 30 officers and employees from the IT Department.

The biggest hauls of cash were discovered at Dang's house, along with bundles of notes stashed in bags inside closets and beds. Over ₹40 crore in cash was found at his residence. The currency counting procedure continued throughout the night. Images of the seized cash laid out on a bed went viral on social media.
The investigation began at 11 a.m. on Saturday, targeting the various business premises. The IT team also raided BK Shoes on MG Road, Manshu Footwear in Dhakran, and several others, discovering huge sums of hidden wealth.
Approximately ₹60 crore worth of gold, silver jewelry, and documents related to land investments were recovered. The authorities seized electronic devices, including laptops, computers, and mobile phones. They also examined receipts, bills, and stock registers along with cash.
The IT Department is conducting these raids as part of a bigger initiative to identify and resolve concerns related to income inequality and tax fraud among Agra company owners. As officials examine the assets and papers that have been seized, the inquiry is still ongoing. However, official confirmation of the total assets seized is still pending.
