Al Falah University link under scrutiny as investigators widen trail after Delhi explosion that killed 13.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has picked up a Ludhiana-based doctor from West Bengal’s Uttar Dinajpur district for questioning in connection with the blast near Delhi’s Red Fort earlier this week, which killed 10 people and injured several others.
Jahnisar Alam, who completed his MBBS from Al Falah University in 2024, was visiting relatives in Dalkhola when an NIA team intercepted him at Surjapur market. He was later taken to Siliguri for questioning, sources said.

Investigators began tracking doctors associated with the Faridabad-based university after early leads suggested that individuals linked to the institution may have a role in the Red Fort blast.
Evidence gathered from the explosion site is undergoing forensic analysis and is being examined alongside materials recovered from the Faridabad terror module, where authorities seized 358 kg of ammonium nitrate and other bomb-making components.
Alam’s family, originally from Dalkhola but settled in Ludhiana for several years, said he was in the district to attend a family engagement on November 16 and a wedding on December 6.
Speaking to reporters, Alam’s uncle Abul Kasem said, “He was picked up in connection with the Delhi blasts. We have heard that all his MBBS batch mates from Al Falah University are being questioned.”
Kasem added that NIA officials also visited the family’s home in Ludhiana and spoke to Alam’s father before arriving in Bengal. “After he was picked up, he called his mother and said he was being questioned. Later, he told us they took him to Siliguri. We don’t know what he has done. He is a polite man,” he said.
The NIA has not issued a formal statement yet, but officials said multiple angles — including possible links between the Red Fort blast and the Faridabad module — are being actively examined as the investigation intensifies.
