After Arvind Kejriwal's arrest in connection with the Delhi excise policy case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) launched a raid on Wednesday at the residence of Varun Roojam, the Excise and Taxation Commissioner of Punjab, located in Sector 20, Chandigarh.
Roojam has previously been interrogated and raided by the ED. The most recent action was triggered by a complaint lodged by BJP state chief Sunil Kumar Jakhar with the Election Commission of India (ECI), calling for an investigation into Punjab's excise policy. According to sources, the ED is in the process of summoning officials from the excise department in Delhi for questioning.

The ED's raid has placed the Punjab government, led by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), under scrutiny, as its excise policy has been under investigation by the ED for some time.
The raid coincided with the AAP's preparations for a major rally in Delhi on Sunday.
