A Delhi court has ruled against granting bail to K Kavitha, highlighting her potential to sway witnesses if released.

In a recent court decision, the bail application of BRS leader K Kavitha was denied by a Delhi court in connection with the excise policy case. The court's ruling emphasized that K Kavitha does not fit the description of a 'vulnerable' woman susceptible to being wrongfully accused.
The court noted K Kavitha's significant role in influencing witnesses and expressed concerns over the possibility of her continuing such actions if granted bail. "The accused is a well-educated and prominent figure in society, and cannot be considered vulnerable or easily scapegoated," the court stated.
Furthermore, the court mentioned that K Kavitha had taken steps to destroy potential evidence by formatting her mobile phones prior to the investigation. The court also dismissed the argument presented by K Kavitha's legal team, which sought her release to provide support to her child during school examinations.
The court observed that K Kavitha's child has the support of other family members, including an older sibling, the father, and maternal aunts, who can provide the necessary emotional support during the examination period. The court concluded that the presence of these relatives diminishes the urgency of the argument for K Kavitha's interim bail based on her child's needs.
This decision follows a previous ruling by Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court, which also dismissed K Kavitha's request for interim bail due to her son's exams.
