The new facility at The Kosala School will offer practical STEM, aviation, artificial intelligence and aeromodelling training, with the organisers projecting benefits for over 2,000 students annually.

Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati has inaugurated a new STEM laboratory and aeromodelling training centre under the Boeing Sukanya Program at The Kosala School in Bargarh district. The initiative aims to expand access to practical science and technology education for students in western Odisha.
According to the organisers, the facility is expected to benefit more than 2,000 students every year. It will provide opportunities to explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), aviation, aircraft modelling and artificial intelligence through hands-on learning activities.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by local legislators, Bargarh District Collector Aditya Goyal, school chairman Murali Krishna Gannamani, educators, students and representatives of Boeing and Learning Links Foundation.
During his visit, the Governor interacted with students and viewed demonstrations of their innovations, prototypes and aeromodelling projects.
The newly opened facility combines specialised learning spaces intended to help students understand scientific and engineering concepts through practical activities rather than classroom instruction alone.
The centre includes the following facilities:
The Boeing Sukanya Program STEM lab will introduce students to a range of technology-related subjects, including:
Robotics and physical computing
Electronics and artificial intelligence
Rapid prototyping and model development
Aerospace concepts and engineering fundamentals
Hands-on scientific experimentation
These activities are intended to encourage problem-solving, creativity and critical thinking while helping students become familiar with emerging technologies.
The aeromodelling centre will give students practical exposure to the principles behind aircraft design and flight.
Its learning activities will cover aerodynamics, aircraft construction, flight mechanics and the development of model aircraft. Students will have opportunities to understand how scientific principles are applied in aviation and aerospace engineering.
An AI laboratory has also been added to the campus by Ananda Cityzen, the corporate social responsibility (CSR) wing of Fluentgrid Ltd.
Together, the STEM, aeromodelling and AI facilities are intended to provide students from The Kosala School and nearby schools with broader access to practical learning opportunities.
Speaking at the inauguration, Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati emphasised the need to extend quality STEM education to students who have limited access to such facilities.
He said the new learning centre could encourage scientific thinking and inspire young people to explore opportunities in India's expanding technology sector.
The initiative aims to help students develop an interest in science and engineering while gaining practical exposure to fields that could shape their future education and careers.
Boeing India and South Asia President Salil Gupte welcomed the inauguration, highlighting the potential of the facilities to introduce students to aviation and STEM careers.
The programme seeks to help students discover career possibilities in India's aviation sector by combining financial support, educational opportunities and practical learning experiences.
The initiative also aligns with broader efforts to encourage more girls to consider careers in aviation, aerospace and related technical fields.
The Kosala School, established in 1979, is a not-for-profit educational institution affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
School chairman Murali Krishna Gannamani said the collaboration would give students access to learning opportunities beyond traditional classroom teaching.
The project brings together Boeing, Learning Links Foundation and Ananda Cityzen to strengthen access to STEM, aerospace and AI education in the region.
Learning Links Foundation is the implementation partner for the Boeing Sukanya Program's educational initiatives. The organisation works on educational development and skills programmes intended to improve learning opportunities for students.
According to the organisers, the centre will serve both the school's students and learners from surrounding schools, extending the potential reach of the facilities beyond a single institution.
The Bargarh facility is part of the wider Boeing Sukanya Program, which aims to increase women's participation in India's aviation sector and create more opportunities for girls to pursue careers in science and technology.
The programme was launched in 2024 and includes initiatives to expand access to STEM education through school laboratories and support girls aspiring to become pilots through scholarship opportunities.
The supplied announcement also notes that STEM laboratories under the programme were inaugurated earlier in 2026 in Sambalpur, Rairakhol and Kuchinda in Odisha.
Learning Links Foundation Chairperson Dr. Anjlee Prakash said the partnership is intended to create learning environments where students can experiment, ask questions and build confidence. She highlighted the importance of encouraging girls to pursue STEM education and explore technical careers.
Access to practical laboratories can help students connect classroom lessons with real-world applications. Through robotics, aircraft modelling, electronics and AI activities, learners can explore how scientific principles are used to solve problems.
The centre's key objectives include:
Improving practical understanding of STEM subjects.
Encouraging innovation, experimentation and critical thinking.
Introducing students to aviation and aerospace concepts.
Building confidence and problem-solving skills.
Helping students explore future education and career pathways.
Encouraging greater participation of girls in technical fields.
The organisers expect the new facility to reach more than 2,000 students annually. The actual number of beneficiaries will depend on how the facility is used and how access is arranged for students from neighbouring schools.
Boeing operates across India's aerospace sector, working with domestic suppliers, manufacturing partners, research institutions and educational organisations.
The company has highlighted its commitment to developing local aerospace capabilities and strengthening technical skills through partnerships and community initiatives.
Through programmes such as the Boeing Sukanya Program, the company aims to support education and help create opportunities for young people interested in aviation and related STEM careers.
