Ranveer Allahbadia sought anticipatory bail, fearing arrest by Guwahati police, who had summoned him and other participants. The Chief Justice of India was informed about the early hearing request but declined it, citing an already scheduled date.

YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia has petitioned the Supreme Court for relief from several FIRs filed against him in different states, linked to controversial comments made during the YouTube reality show India's Got Latent, hosted by comedian Samay Raina.
Allahbadia, through his lawyer Abhinav Chandrachud, has asked the Supreme Court to consolidate the FIRs filed against him across various states.

He also requested anticipatory bail, fearing arrest by the Guwahati police, who had previously summoned him and other participants.
The Chief Justice of India, Sanjiv Khanna, was informed about the petition's request for an early hearing. However, the CJI declined the request, stating that a date had already been set for the case.
In one episode of India's Got Latent, a reality show with comedians and influencers as judges and contestants, Allahbadia made a controversial comment about parents and sex.
"Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?" he asked.
His remarks were widely deemed offensive, sparking a national uproar and numerous complaints. After a formal complaint from a Guwahati resident, the Assam police opened a case under public morality and obscenity provisions.

The case involves Allahbadia, Raina, and other participants, including Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija. A team of Assam police officers is currently in Mumbai to serve summons to Raina, Allahbadia, and the other participants.
Raina, who resides in Pune, has been given four days to appear before the Assam police. He has requested additional time to comply with the summons, as he is currently in the US for performances.
Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske raised the issue in Parliament, calling for stricter rules on social media content. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has been directed to submit a detailed report on the matter by Feb 17 to a parliamentary panel on communications and information technology.
