The movie which revolves around the life of Usha Mehta, a young college going student who perseveres to help India achieve independence by forming an underground radio station that becomes a catalyst for Quit India Movement is slated to release on March 21.

Usha Mehta established an underground radio station called "Congress Radio," which broadcasted messages supporting the Quit India Movement and spreading information about the struggle for independence.
Her contributions to India's freedom struggle are well-documented and recognized.
Sara Ali Khan, who is playing the lead character of Usha Mehta, in a statement, said, “Portraying such a powerful character in Ae Watan Mere Watan has been an honour beyond words. To embody the spirit of my character and diving into her consciousness and understanding what motivates and inspires her has been humbling and empowering”.

“The film is a reminder of the sacrifices made by countless unsung heroes and a testament to the fortitude of the human spirit,” she added.
Written by Kannan and Darab Farooqui, the movie is produced by Dharmatic productions- the digital extension of Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, while it is directed by Kannan Iyer. The movie also has a special guest appearance by Emraan Hashmi.
The movie is set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video in India and across more than 240 countries and territories worldwide on in Hindi with dubs in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
