Indian actor Vikrant Massey says retirement post misunderstood: 'Just need a long break'

Indian actor Vikrant Massey clarified his recent statement, saying that he is simply taking a much-needed break rather than retiring from acting.

His social media post, which suggested he would retire from acting in 2025, sparked rumors.

While clarifying the situation, he said, “I’m not retiring... Just burned out. I need a long break. I miss home, and my health is also acting up.”

However, he did not specify any illness.

“Hello, the last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realize it’s time to ‘recalibrate and go home,’ as a husband, father, son, and also as an actor. So, in 2025, we will meet each other for one last time. Until the time deems right. The last two movies and many years of memories. Thank you again, for everything and everything in between. Forever indebted,” Massey wrote in his post.

Massey, well-known for his critically acclaimed roles in ‘Lootera,’ ‘A Death in the Gunj,’ and ‘12th Fail,’ has been managing a busy schedule lately.

Massey's most recent film, ‘The Sabarmati Report,’ was presented at IFFI and has been deemed tax-free in various states, including Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh.

Based on the real-life events surrounding the Godhra train disaster, the social drama has been a hit with fans.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah attended a special screening of ‘The Sabarmati Report.’

He received the Personality of the Year award at India's 55th International Film Festival (IFFI).

Massey is preparing for a number of upcoming projects, including .Zero Se Restart,' a documentary directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, and Santosh Singh's ‘Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan.’
