The film 'The Sabarmati Report' has received mixed reviews, and now Prime Minister Narendra Modi has come out in support of it, claiming that actual incidents are depicted in the film.
The Prime Minister responded to a tweet shared by X user Alok Bhatt, in which he praised the makers of 'The Sabarmati Report' for shedding light on the reality behind the 2002 Godhra tragedy, which claimed the lives of 59 people, including women and children.

PM Modi reshared Bhatt’s tweet and said, "Well said. It is good that this truth is coming out, and that too in a way common people can see it. A fake narrative can persist only for a limited period of time. Eventually, the facts will always come out!"
"The effort is particularly commendable because it brings out the important truth of one of the most shameful events in our recent history. The makers of the film handled this issue with a lot of sensitivity and dignity," Bhatt said in his tweet.
"On a larger point, it is worth introspection for all of us as to how the brutal burning of passengers of the Sabarmati Express was turned into a political minefield by a vested interest group, who saw it as a means to tarnish the image of one leader. Their ecosystem peddled one lie after another just to satisfy their own petty agenda,” Bhatt added.
He concluded, "Finally, 59 innocent victims got to speak for themselves. Yes, as they say, truth alone triumphs. This movie is indeed a fitting tribute to those 59 innocent men, women, and children we lost that February morning."
The film "The Sabarmati Report" was released in theaters on Nov 15, starring Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna, and Riddhi Dogra.
'The Sabarmati Report' has seen an increase in box office because of positive word of mouth. On Nov 15, it opened for only ₹1.25 crore.
On Nov 16, the film grossed approximately ₹2 crore. On Nov 17, it earned ₹3.25 crore, showing more development. So far, the net collection in India stands at ₹6.35 crore.
