As part of its centenary year celebrations, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will host a nationwide interactive town hall, giving aspirants and citizens an opportunity to engage directly with the Commission.

The initiative, announced on UPSC’s official LinkedIn page, will allow participants to submit questions on examinations, reforms, and innovations.

Queries can be sent in advance by email to [email protected] between Sept 28 and 10 am on Sept 30, in either text or video format. During the live event, participants can also post questions on X, Facebook, and LinkedIn using the hashtag #AskChairmanUPSC.

According to UPSC, the event is a rare platform for aspirants to hear directly from the Chairperson about one of India’s toughest examinations that recruits officers for the IAS, IFS, and IPS.

The session will also formally begin UPSC’s centenary year, marking 100 years since its establishment on Oct 1, 1926, under the Government of India Act, 1919.

Originally called the Public Service Commission, it became the Federal Public Service Commission in 1937 before being renamed the Union Public Service Commission on Jan 26, 1950, with the adoption of the Constitution.

The centenary year, running from October 2025 to October 2026, will feature multiple initiatives, including the setting up of a Centre of Excellence that will function as a repository of best practices for UPSC and State Public Service Commissions.
