CM Manik Saha highlighted NEP-led reforms, teacher training, student welfare programs, and school and higher education infrastructure statewide.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Dec 1 called on students to blend academic learning with modern technology, practical skills, and spiritual values, saying education should shape both professional success and personal character.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Golden Jubilee Year Celebration Festival of the Tripura Board of Secondary Education at Nazrul Kalakshetra, Saha said classroom learning must be complemented by real-world exposure and ethical grounding.

“For a successful future, one must pursue true education along with moral values. Education helps an individual establish a distinct identity in society,” he said, adding that spending time on spirituality helps students remain calm and focused.
The chief minister said students should use technology not only for academic purposes but also to gain practical knowledge and life skills.
Referring to the National Education Policy, he said it was introduced on the advice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make the education system modern and student-focused.
“Educated youth are among the most valuable assets of the world. Technology has been integrated with education, and the Prime Minister is working to make India a global education hub. The state government is also implementing several projects to ensure timely and quality education,” said Saha, who also holds the elementary and secondary education portfolio.
Highlighting the Tripura Board of Secondary Education’s journey, Saha said the board, established in 1976, is marking its golden jubilee this year.
He stressed the importance of drawing guidance from former officers and employees to further strengthen the institution and said student performance in TBSE examinations has improved since the rollout of the National Education Policy.
The chief minister listed several state initiatives aimed at strengthening the education system, including Nipun Tripura, Mission Mukul, and the Vidya Setu Module.
He said bicycles are being provided to girl students, the Super 30 program supports higher education aspirants, and regular teacher training has been carried out, with about 7,700 teachers trained so far.
Saha said smart classrooms have been introduced in all schools, while new hostels have been built for students from tribal areas. A total of 47 hostels have been constructed under different schemes, including PM Janman.
He added that the state plans to set up one Eklavya Model Residential School in each of Tripura’s 58 blocks and is expanding higher education infrastructure through new colleges, universities, and technical institutions.

At the event, 23 students were honored for outstanding performance in secondary and higher secondary examinations between 2022 and 2025.
The chief minister presented certificates to the awardees and unveiled a souvenir marking the golden jubilee year of the TBSE.
Education Department Secretary Ravel Hemendra Kumar, Maharaj Swami Bhaktisudhananda of Viveknagar Ramakrishna Math, TBSE President Dhananjay Ganachowdhury, and Board Secretary Joydeep Bhattacharya were also present.
