The partnership leverages CSCs’ extensive rural network to provide admission support, digital infrastructure, and academic guidance, making quality online and distance learning accessible to students in remote areas.
Shoolini University has partnered with Common Service Centers (CSCs) to expand access to online and distance education for students in rural and remote parts of India.
The collaboration, led by the university’s Centre for Distance and Online Education (SCDOE), aims to use the CSC network to deliver structured, employment-oriented higher education programs.
The initiative was launched at a formal ceremony held at Shoolini University. Sanjay Kumar Rakesh, Managing Director of CSC, served as the chief guest.
Under the agreement, CSCs will function as local support hubs for digital learners, offering assistance with admissions, academic guidance, and access to necessary digital infrastructure.
“With this partnership, we aim to provide 360-degree support for Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) and rural learners,” said Rakesh.
“CSC Academy plays a key role in the Digital India initiative, and strengthening online education is essential to driving this mission forward. This collaboration directly contributes to the goals of Viksit Bharat Abhiyan by making employment-oriented education more accessible,” he added.
Ashish Khosla, founder and president of Shoolini University, emphasized the need for digital outreach to close the education gap in India.
“India’s Gross Enrollment Ratio in higher education is just 28%. Digital platforms can be instrumental in improving access and driving enrollment, especially in Tier 2 and Tier 3 regions,” he said.
The event also recognized Village Level Entrepreneurs for their efforts in promoting digital education in rural communities.
This collaboration supports the Digital India mission by combining Shoolini’s academic offerings with the extensive reach of the CSC network, with the goal of making higher education more inclusive and scalable across underserved regions.
