The course will equip students with interdisciplinary knowledge, innovation skills, and the ability to assess complex environmental and social issues, preparing them for leadership roles across various sectors like business, engineering, and design.
The University of Strathclyde in Glasgow has introduced a new MSc in Sustainability Innovation Leadership.
This program aims to equip students with the skills needed to address social and environmental issues.
The one-year, full-time program, starting in September 2025, combines sustainability, innovation, and leadership from various industries in an integrative manner.
The MSc program is designed for individuals with a passion for sustainability and curiosity, coming from a wide range of academic backgrounds.
Candidates with a first-class or upper-second-class Honours degree (or its international equivalent) in business, management, engineering, design, or architecture are eligible to apply.
For the 2025–2026 academic year, international students enrolled in this course will need to pay £30,250 (₹33,60,623.75).
According to the university's press release, the course will develop interdisciplinary knowledge and innovation skills, the ability to critically assess complex and uncertain environmental and social scenarios, and training to promote sustainability leadership across industries, including business, engineering, and design.
“The MSc Sustainability Innovation Leadership program aims to foster a holistic, forward-thinking approach to sustainability challenges. Students will develop cognitive capacities beyond traditional learning, integrating environmental engineering science, social innovation leadership, creative design thinking, and indigenous and generational perspectives,” the release reads.
“Through academic analysis, hands-on application, peer learning, and personal reflection, students will cultivate leadership skills that are applicable across sectors such as business, technology, science, public policy, and community development,” it adds.
To support talented students worldwide, the university is offering a £5,000 scholarship for self-funded international (non-EU) students.
This scholarship will automatically be deducted from tuition fees, making the program more accessible to aspiring sustainability leaders.
In addition, the university has launched a new MSc in Statistics and Data Science, a conversion course designed to help students enter the rapidly growing fields of applied statistics and data science.
Regardless of prior experience, students from various disciplines can transition into data science with the MSc in Statistics & Data Science, which also begins in September 2025.
According to the press release, the course is intended for those eager to learn about data analysis, machine learning, big data processing, predictive modeling, and the use of statistical software such as R and Python.
To be eligible for this course, applicants must have at least a second-class (2:2) Honours degree or its equivalent from another country.
For the 2025–2026 academic year, international students enrolling in this course will need to pay £25,500 (approximately ₹28,69,418).
