LIC scholarship 2026 applications open for Class 10 and 12 pass students

The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has opened applications for the Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme 2026 for students seeking financial assistance to continue their higher education.

The scholarship is intended for students from economically weaker sections and covers different courses after Class 10 and Class 12. The last date to submit applications is September 30, 2026.

LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship 2026 eligibility

Students applying under the General Scholarship category must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination with at least 60 per cent marks in the academic years 2023-24, 2024-25 or 2025-26. They must have secured admission to the first year of an eligible course during the 2026-27 academic year.

For the Special Scholarship category, students who passed Class 10 or an equivalent examination with at least 60 per cent marks in the same academic period can apply. They must have taken admission to the first year of Intermediate, 10+2, vocational, diploma or eligible ITI courses in 2026-27.

The annual income of the applicant's parents or guardian should not exceed Rs 4.5 lakh.

How much scholarship will students receive?

The amount varies depending on the course being pursued.

Medical students can receive Rs 50,000 per year, while students pursuing engineering courses are eligible for Rs 40,000 annually.

Students enrolled in graduation, integrated, diploma, vocational and ITI courses can receive Rs 20,000 per year. Under the Special Scholarship category for students pursuing further studies after Class 10, the scholarship amount is Rs 15,000 per year.

The scholarship amount for medical and engineering courses is paid in two instalments during the year.

LIC scholarship 2026 selection process

LIC will assess applications on the basis of the prescribed eligibility conditions and academic performance. In cases where applicants have the same marks, preference will be given to the student whose parents have a lower annual income.

The scholarship is meant for eligible regular courses. Students pursuing courses through correspondence, part-time programmes or open universities are not eligible under the scheme.

How to apply for LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship 2026

Eligible students can submit their applications online through the LIC website. The application deadline is September 30, 2026.

Applicants should keep their academic records, income-related documents and bank account details ready. Students selected for the scholarship will also have to complete the required document verification process.

The scholarship amount will be transferred to the selected student's verified bank account through NEFT. LIC has advised applicants to check the detailed scholarship guidelines before submitting their applications.
