The £6,000 scholarship aims to support international students, including those from India, by offering a fee reduction to ease financial burdens for those enrolling in a master's program at Leeds.
The University of Leeds, England, has introduced the International Masters Regional Scholarships for the 2025 academic session.
This scholarship offers a £6,000 (₹6,61,170.60) fee reduction to international students, including those from India, and aims to support talented students by alleviating financial burdens, according to a statement from the university.
Students from certain countries, such as India, Egypt, France, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Peru, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, and Vietnam, are eligible for the scholarship.
However, a student’s domicile status alone does not qualify them for the award; only nationals from these specific regions are eligible.
To be eligible, applicants must be self-funding or partially funded, classified as international fee-paying students, and hold a conditional or unconditional offer for a taught master's program at the University of Leeds for 2025.
Candidates must also be enrolled as students at the University of Leeds by January 30, 2026.
Additionally, they must accept their admission offer and, if applicable, pay a £2,000 tuition fee deposit by the deadline specified in their offer letter.
Candidates should note that this scholarship does not apply to fully online courses or the Leeds MBA program.
Furthermore, students who are eligible for more than one Leeds scholarship and apply through International Partner Agreements may only accept the one with the highest value.
Unlike many competitive awards, the International Masters Regional Scholarship does not require a separate application.
It will be automatically awarded to eligible students who meet all the necessary criteria.
Students who have already been accepted into a University of Leeds master's program will receive a confirmation of the scholarship by email, while new applicants will only be contacted after they have received their admission offer.
The £6,000 scholarship will be applied as a tuition fee reduction in the second semester. Since the discount will be applied to the second tuition installment, due in February 2026, students are encouraged to choose an installment payment plan.
The International Masters Regional Scholarship may be combined with other scholarships offered by the university, faculty, or other sources, as long as the total amount does not exceed 100% of the tuition costs.
However, students should confirm whether the other scholarships they have received allow for such combinations.
