Saat Nishchay-3: Bihar to set up one model school per block for NEET and JEE preparation

The Bihar government is set to establish one Adarsh Madhyamik Vidyalaya in each block of the state, with plans to begin Class 9 from the 2026-27 academic session.

Admissions to these model schools will be conducted through an entrance examination scheduled for March 11. Students who qualify will be admitted based on a merit list.

Online applications for the test were accepted until Feb 20 after the State Council of Educational Research and Training extended the earlier Feb 15 deadline.

The initiative is part of the state’s Saat Nishchay-3 program and will cover 534 blocks across Bihar. The schools are intended to provide structured preparation for competitive examinations such as NEET, JEE, and Olympiads starting at the secondary level.

Each institution will have experienced teachers and subject experts. Infrastructure plans include smart classrooms, modern libraries, and advanced laboratories.

Regular test series, performance assessments, doubt-clearing sessions, and individualized career counseling are also proposed.

According to the state government, “The state government says that this new initiative will provide rural and block-level students with access to quality education and high-level competitive exam preparation all in one place.”

Officials said technology integration will support classroom instruction and provide updated academic resources.

The program aims to reduce disparities between rural and urban students by expanding access to quality teaching and competitive exam support.

The first batch of admitted students will begin classes in the 2026-27 session, allowing time for institutional preparation and curriculum planning.
